Sand Ocean is the expansive country in which the story of The Star of Sand Ocean takes place in. It's much more than what is shown on the map and its borders, but the more important cities and towns and landmarks are all within it.

The Belt Mountains is the vast, southwest-northeast mountain range that stretches across the land, splitting Sand Ocean into two regions: the South Side and the North Side. Each side of the mountains have their own unique characteristics, the southern side being flatter with room for roads to be formed for easy navigation and transportation, and the northern side of the mountains being incredibly steep with far less stable foot area to hike and travel. People have been known to have accidents trying to hike the northern side of the mountains to reach the other side on foot and without the proper materials and equipment. While nowadays, people would normally stay away from scaling the mountains’ north face, it was considered a fantastical feat so many decades ago to make it onto the other side, since the South Side was entirely unexplored and unknown to the people during that time.

The mountains are also naturally a home to many species of wildlife. Only a few are strictly living in the mountains and nothing further beyond it, such as mountain goats and mountain lions. There are also various species that live partially on the mountain as well as either on the North Side or South Side. People have lived off its nature for years and years when traversing the mountains back during the time when they were crossing it to get to the present-day South Side.

Besides the wildlife, the mountains are also a home to numerous cave systems and mines, as it’s abundant in minerals such as gold and silver, along with other desired materials. It’s said while most mines are considered incredibly expansive, there’s still a lot that remains unexplored. There is also an incredible system of lakes and rivers stretching across the lands of Sand Ocean.
