Bunnera

Bunnera is a very large town, being the largest town in all of Sand Ocean by both population and square footage. The town is considered one of the most civilized and clean towns of North Side, and of Sand Ocean. The reason it has such high standards is that it serves as one of the oldest towns, being one where many people lived when they set off to explore the other side of the Belt Mountains several decades ago. Bunnera is - and always has been - the farm capital of Sand Ocean. Growing all sorts of produce, Bunnera takes good advantage of North Side’s incredibly fertile land to grow an abundance of food. Bunnera profits lots from its farms on the outskirts of town, one of those farms being Old Fern Farm. Most of this food is transported to the South Side, and shipped out from Dusttop by horse-drawn wagons to shops further out.

The trainyard of Bunnera also proves to be a critical part of the town’s thriving nature, pulling in other products from South Side, distributing them in the same manner across North Side. Passenger trains are to pull into the passenger station on the south side of town, and the cargo trains are to pull into the northern side of town to help keep things in order so as to not get mixed up or to cause any confusion. Usually, these trains are often targeted by outlaws and bandits, but crews have been trained to be better prepared for those kinds of encounters.

Bunnera is an incredibly bustling town, being home to some of the most stately people in the country. Businesses thrive, including saloons and shops, as well as hotels and inns due to such a high population. One of the main things the people of Bunnera love to do is hold numerous yearly competitions, including a cowboy rodeo show and a vegetable growing competition. The cowboy show is a show in which cowboys gather around and show off their skills to a crowd. The winner is awarded with a cash prize, and their name is put in the paper to be delivered across town and across Sand Ocean. For the vegetable growing competition, the farms from around Bunnera and around the North Side would compete to grow the largest vegetable, typically a carrot, considering it’s the one vegetable that all the farms grow. Because of this, they constantly measure every carrot they pull up, deeming any carrot over a foot to be a contender in the competition. The competition is held at the end of the carrot growing season in mid-summer. The winner gets a cash prize and a small carrot-shaped trophy. Both are considered traditions and help keep the culture alive in their town.
